Safety on our programmes is paramount. Prior to departure, all of out teams will have to attend a weekends training course during which subjects such as health & hygiene, first aid and safety on construction sites will be covered.

All team members are individually insured through the specialist travel broker, Campbell Irvine and hold a return flight ticket which is ATOL bonded (adventure Lifesigns ATOL number is 9303).

During the project the team will be accompanied by an experienced group of staff. This will typically include:

• A project manager and expedition leader
• A doctor or medic
• A UK school teacher

All teams carry satellite telephones, Electronic Positioning Indicator Radio Beacons (EPIRB’s), GPS handsets, attack alarms and a comprehensive medical pack. The teams are linked back to the 24-hour Adventure Lifesigns Operations Room based in Aldershot, Hampshire.

The Operations Room is manned by a dedicated staff of seasoned travellers and security specialists. The Operations Team are linked to a repatriation agency who can be called on 24-hours a day in the unlikely event of an emergency.
