Project India was conceived during a meeting between Mike Jacob, Deputy Head of Lincoln Minster School and Alistair Cole, Managing Director of Adventure Lifesigns Limited.
Mike had been approached by the Diocese of Lincolnshire who had strong links with the Bishop of Tirunelveli in Southern India and wanted to send a group of school children to India to help on Tsunami relief projects.
Having discussed the concept with Adventure Lifesigns, the project was born. The first team of volunteers departs for India in the summer of 2008 with the idea being to send teams to India every summer for the next ten years.
Adventure Lifesigns have agreed to organise and run the project alongside their normal school overseas expeditions.
